| NEW TRANSFER: ISMAEL BOUZID
June 17 (GalatasarayNews.com) Galatasaray have signed 23-year-old Algerian international Ismaël Bouzid from Kaiserslautern.
The central defender, who was born in Nancy, France and holds dual French and Algerian citizenship, played at Kaiserslautern for one season after joining from MC Algiers in 2006. He had previously played at Metz in France.
Bouzid is expected to fly to Istanbul this week. He is currently in Algiers, where he joined the national team in an African Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea on Saturday (Algeria lost, 2-0). He has four international caps.
A statement on Galatasaray's official website announced the transfer, and stated that details of the transfer would be released later in the week. |

| | I don't really know anything about him. His career seems pretty unremarkable on the surface, and I wonder why we used a foreign-player spot on him. But who knows, maybe he'll turn out to be great. |
